Should I use gas or electric if my water heater has an electric element?

Gas should be used as the primary heating scource for a water heater. The electric element is typically 1500 watts and you should not use another high wattage appliance such as the air conditioner or microwave if the electric water heater element is on.

Should I use electric or gas for my refrigerator?

Most RV refrigerators choose AC first if set to Auto mode and use gas if AC is not available. Gas is meant to be used a backup if the AC is not working because the gas system causes corrosion and may cause damage to the unit if used for a long period of time. Unlike a water heater the refrigerator gas burner will run for many hours a day.
